Our Story
debaterhub was founded on a simple belief: AI should enhance human thinking, not replace it. In an era where AI tools can generate instant responses, we asked a different question—how can AI help people become better thinkers?
Our journey began with debate. For decades, competitive debate has been one of the most effective tools for developing critical thinking, research skills, and persuasive communication. But debate education has been limited to those with access to expensive programs and expert coaches.
With support from the National Science Foundation, we set out to democratize debate education through AI. Our research has led to breakthroughs in dialogical assessment—a form of authentic evaluation that can't be gamed by AI tools because it measures genuine understanding through conversation.
Today, debaterhub serves as the research engine that powers we-think products. Every feature in my-desk.ai is grounded in rigorous research and validated through real-world testing.
